Babies have a lot to say! Help strengthen your bond and enhance communication with your little one through this delightful introduction to sign language. Each page introduces three to four first signs that will help you teach your baby to express what they are feeling and what they want. Lift the tab for a description of how to make each sign. Then read and sign the simple story. Charming pictures reinforce the meaning for your toddler. Using baby sign language helps reduce frustration for both parents and children. The sturdy board book pages make this book one that can read and used over and over again.

  • 22 essential ASL signs: Introduces babies and little ones to American Sign Language (ASL) with 22 beginner signs like "Hello," "All done!", and "Milk".
  • Adorable storybook: Every page includes written instructions alongside a beautifully illustrated story.
  • Interactive learning: Lifting the tabs encourages sensory exploration and helps support the development of fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination in developing children.
  • Sturdy board pages: Thick durable tabs are extra strong and designed to withstand traditional wear and tear for curious little babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Improve communication: Practice speaking with your baby through sign language by sharing wants, needs, feelings, and more.

About the contributor(s)

Born and based in Romania, Teodora studied Design at the University of Oradea and began her career as a graphic designer in 2012. A few years later, she got a job at a game studio. After creating lots of graphics for games, she went on to collaborate with a stock resource website and fell in love with children's illustration. Although she lives near Transylvania, her affinities are far from frightening. She loves creating cute and charming worlds, full of joyful characters that bring smiles to the faces of kids and adults alike. She works digitally, in Adobe Illustrator, but prefers creating the first sketches on paper as she enjoys the simplicity of it and the connection with the process. Her inspiration comes from vintage books, travels and walks around her hometown. When she's not drawing, you can find her visiting friends or watching the latest crime series on Netflix.

Cottage Door Press is an independent publisher of high-quality children’s books. Our books are designed to spark curiosity in the littlest readers and fan the flames of lifelong learning. We understand children deserve our respect. That's why we always select artwork and stories that encourage caregivers to "read up" to their little ones––exploring interests together, learning together, and giving their young minds room to grow.

We also believe in creating stories that reflect the boundless possibilities of all children. We hope to create books that inspire little ones to connect, encourage them to dream, give them cause to celebrate, and allow them to see themselves beautifully reflected in the stories they read.

To bring these beautiful stories to life, our diverse and talented staff collaborates with authors and illustrators from all backgrounds and nationalities. We have also partnered with multicultural brands and literacy organizations to make sure our books reflect and reach as many little ones as possible.
